About Marko Love
Marko Love, an International Association of Sapo Practitioners (IASP) member, completed his primary initiation into the practice with Bufo in 2020.
Marko’s journey towards healing began in response to his own traumatic experiences at a young age. He initially sought help within the Western medical system. Unfortunately, this route, rather than offering healing, inadvertently precipitated several years of health complications.
In a fortunate twist of fate, Marko’s adoptive Uncle, a Taita, belongs to a Colombian shamanic tradition steeped in the wisdom of plant medicines. It was within this nurturing environment that Marko finally found the healing he had been seeking.

Journey with sacred medicines
Marko’s journey with plant medicines extends beyond his work with his Uncle. He is also an active participant in the Brazilian Santo Daime church, where he regularly takes part in bi-weekly ceremonies serving as a guardian in the healing area, to exemplify his commitment to his faith and dedication to the community.
After several fulfilling years of practicing medicine work, Marko felt a compelling call to work with Kambo and Bufo. His mission was to provide healing to the community using these powerful tools. To prepare himself, he undertook specialized training through the International Association of Sapo Practitioners in 2020, and shortly after, he achieved his primary initiation in Bufo.
In addition to this, Marko has completed the Trauma-Informed Plant Medicine Facilitator Training, and Somatic Integration for Plant Medicine Ceremonies, both through AYA healing retreats.
The frog jumped onto his path
Marko’s journey began with an unusual guide: a frog that leapt onto his path. This unexpected encounter led him not only to profound self-healing but also opened his eyes to the healing process in others.
